 Welcome to the Avery Lab!

We work to better understand human impacts and provide data that can help us effectively manage wild populations. Current projects focus on the conservation genomics of grouse, aquatic invasive species impacts, sustainability in the wildlife trade, and industrial sound pollution. We also work on questions related to animal coloration and pattern. I teach courses in conservation genetics, wildlife measurements, herpetology and ornithology.
